Working with Women with Disability Experiencing Violence
Women with disability experience violence at markedly higher rates, for longer, from more perpetrators, and with fewer escape routes than women without disability. The person using violence is frequently also the person providing support — a configuration that mainstream DFV responses were never built for. This course addresses that gap directly: disability-specific tactics of abuse, the structural barriers of inaccessible refuges and dependency, and how to coordinate a response across disability and DFV systems that rarely talk to one another.
