Responding to Disclosures of Sexual Violence
Most disclosures of sexual violence are made to someone who is not a specialist, often years after the event, and frequently in the middle of a conversation about something else. What that person does in the following minutes shapes whether the survivor seeks further help. This course prepares non-specialist workers for that moment: the myths that distort our reactions, the language that helps, the options that exist, and the discipline of supporting a decision without making it.
