Disability Pride and Rights-Based Language

This course explores the principles of Disability Pride, the social model of disability, and the importance of rights-based, person-first, and identity-first language in disability practice. Learners will develop a deeper understanding of the disability rights movement, the lived experiences of people with disabilities, and how language shapes and can either affirm or undermine dignity, identity, and inclusion in community services.
